Before Jan “retired” in 2013, she worked for the Boulder Chamber for 9 years directing both special events and the Leadership Boulder County program. Previously Jan was the director of corporate sales and servicing for the U.S. Ski Team for 14 years, a successful mortgage broker and real estate agent, the branch manager and loan officer for a bank, and directed customer service operations in the retail world.
Our community and Cultivate are fortunate that Jan “retired” (we always put that word in quotation marks when describing her). She now has the time to stay actively engaged in numerous Boulder Chamber projects, run her busy freelance marketing and events company, and be a big part of helping Cultivate touch thousands of lives each year.
“I joined Cultivate because I believe in their mission and the critical services they offer,” she explains. “I had family that lived in a location where this support didn’t exist and realized how fortunate we are that Cultivate is in our community. Our services are crucial to the health and well-being of our elder neighbors and the loved ones who care for them.”
Nancy was networking before she knew she was a networker! She is involved with the local community and numerous organizations. One person recently said, “You are a walking, LIVE, LinkedIn!” Her company, Nancy Chin-Wagner, LLC, is a training and consulting firm that, through her PowerConnections group and programs, helps businesses and professionals to network with confidence and move beyond communication to true connections, leveraging their personal contacts to attain personal and professional success.
In the course of becoming a leader in the community and expanding her personal network, Nancy Chin-Wagner realized the immense power of her connections in advancing causes, careers and relationships. Seeing the struggles that most individuals and organizations have in building authentic bonds and leveraging relationships to achieve goals, she decided to step up and begin educating clients, and organizing connection opportunities through PowerConnections. Her work consists of networking events, speed networking, individual consultation, and speaking at universities and corporations, advising them about the importance of networking.
